At First Church of God we strive for compassionate Christian ministry to our Church Family as well as the needy in Marseilles, Illinois. Dedicated to a solid uncompromising understanding of the truth of God's Word we strive at knowing and reaching our neighbors with God's love. We are affiliated with the Church of God, Anderson, Indiana.
Pioneer Clubs is a Biblical children's program which meets at our church from 6:30 - 8:00 every Wednesday night during the school year. The club is a wonderful opportunity to children to be taught and nurtured in all of the principles of the faith. It is structured well for the teachers in their materials which means that lessons are valid, interesting and meaningful for everyday life.
First Church of God participates monthly in the Christian food ministry known as Angel Food Ministries. Angel Food Ministries is a non-profit, non-denominational organization dedicated to providing grocery relief and financial support to communities throughout the United States. Generally, one unit of food assists in feeding a family of four for about one week or a single senior citizen for almost a month. The food is all the same high quality one could purchase at a grocery store. There are no second hand items, no damaged or out dated goods, no dented cans without labels, no day-old breads and no produce that is almost too ripe. Angel Food Ministries crosses denominational lines to spread the good news of the gospel of Christ to individuals and communities.
