Four Spiritual Laws Show How Simple It Is To Find God

Give up trying so hard. Pleasing God does not come by living up to an impossible standard. God wants to give us a gift. Don't fight so hard, just accept the gift.

The Four Spiritual Laws is a simple lesson on how to have a restored relationship with God. God has a great plan for us to bless us and take us to heaven. However, we are separated from God by our own willfulness - our sin. God is our creator who knows what is best for us. Just like the manufacturer of a car knows just what is best for that car to maintain it and make it run right; so God knows what will really make us happy. The trouble is that we insist on ignoring His guidance and trying to go it our own way. In this state we will remain frustrated and eventually die outside of His will and be lost. But God sent His own Son to die for us and take our penalty. We can have forgiveness if we will take it as a gift.

All we need to do is to admit that we have gone away from His direction; that we have sinned. Then we are ready to accept the forgiveness of God. Just simply confess to God that you have sinned and ask Him for His forgiveness. This is very simple. But we have give up our own efforts to earn it ourselves and receive this as a gift.

12 Year Old Boy Debates Scientist On Existence of Heaven

The original video was taken off line by ABC News. This one tells the story of Coulton. The scientist was talking out of turn since he cannot investigate spiritual things. Some people take scientists as more intelligent since science seems deep. An intelligent scientist would not use his credentials to speak on another turf.

Is there a heaven or not. Most of us hope that there is. ABC news reports that three fourths of people believe that heaven exists. World renown Physicist Stephen Hawking says that "heaven is a fairy story for people who are afraid of the dark".

On the other side of the debate is a 12 year old boy who claims to have seen heaven during a near death experience. Colton Burpo claims to have seen Jesus and the Apostles Peter and John in the moments when he nearly passed into heaven. The boy came back knowing things that he had never been told and could have not of known otherwise. Colton's father Todd has written a book about this called Heaven Is For Real.

Which one is correct the 12 year old boy or the 68 year old atheist Physicist? I guess you will have to make your mind up on that. Two things are for sure. Neither the physicist nor any other scientist can prove against the existence of God or heaven since they cannot be studied by scientist's tools. Secondly, the boy responded in a most mature way saying that the scientist would have to make up his own mind and if he couldn't believe in heaven then that was OK. This is a lot more mature than a lot of the fiery rhetoric that we see going back and forth between Christians and atheists today. Congratulations Colton for being a class act.

Looking past the obvious bias to refute your presupposition, I would like to comment on applying the scientific method to the concept of the afterlife. If it can be proven that consciousness is merely the result of the brain, then it would eradicate any need for the concept of a "soul" and thusly a place where souls go after the brain dies. If the brain, the source of our consciousness is no longer functioning, than neither are we. And if we are no longer functioning, then obviously we can't go to a place after life. You can interject your presuppositions into a science based conclusions all you wish, but if you wish to do so without studying the concept first, you'll only look like a fool and a science denier. Onward towards a repeat of the persecution of science! At least you can't do to him what was done to Galileo and so many others. Good day.

The phrase "if it can be proven" says it all. You cannot prove that "consciousness is merely the result of the brain, or that the soul is merely the result of consciousness.

Also, keep in mind that the scientist said that he "believed" that everything ceased to function when the body ceases to function. He didn't add anything of science to the discussion, only his beliefs. This places him in the position of speaking outside of his field since he is a scientist and not a philosopher. Since he added nothing of science to the discussion his presence was not relevant to the discussion.

Just because some scientists speak about their doubt of God does not mean that we should listen. Scientists are no more qualified to give definitive statements about the existence of God than the common man, since God cannot be studied by scientific method. The credential of scientist does not carry any more weight, in this discussion, than that of any other person.

We Are Not In Charge After All

The world is our little apple until we come up against some problem that we can't handle; then God will make sense out of it. This video features Ron Hutchcraft's clear teaching style.

We humans like to be in charge of our own destinies. For a while that goes pretty well. Then life's problems come crashing down on us and we realize that we cannot control things. The fact of the matter is that we were not created to be in control. As humans we were created to trust God and be dependent on Him. When we have to scramble to find Him and to find some sense in life god is right there hoping and waiting for us to come back to him. Follow the advice of Ron Hutchcraft and you will find clear direction for finding your way back to God.

The Bridge By Youth For Christ

This video is based on an old illustration by the Navigators. It describes the separation between humans and God and how Jesus bridges the gap.

All people have been separated from God by their sinful insistence to run their own lives. This causes us to be all out of balance since our lives were designed to be lived in a relationship with God. Being out of balance, out of sync with God causes all sorts of problems.

We cannot bridge the gap by ourselves. Since we are infected with sin we are not capable of healing ourselves. Even our deeds done with intentions of pleasing God are ineffective since they are corrupted by our sinful attitudes. The only way that we can be saved is for God to provide the way; for Him to save us. He send Jesus Christ ti be the substitute for our sins. The cross of Jesus bridges the gap between God and humans. God went to great lengths to reach out to us and offer us Jesus His son. God loves us so much!
